 The Golden Years CAN Wait!!
I’ve got a serious problem
with all the people who say,
“I can’t wait for the golden years
to finally come my way.”
First I’d like to know
by what is golden meant?
It can’t be money
because that’s already been spent.
It can’t be health
for we’re living on borrowed time,
We knocked our selves out
trying to make a dime.
It sure isn’t to be wise
because everyone surely knows,
The older that we get
the faster our memory goes.
It can’t be looks that would be
the ultimate joke
for someone that looks like a prune
and can’t remember that he’s broke!
