Can't Outsmart Mother Nature
After weeks of beautiful weather
we planned our trip with care,
Only to have Mother Nature
fix us with an icy stare.
Shaking her head slowly
like a mother to an errant child,
“I told you what my plans were
why do you want to get me so riled?”
It’s not that we didn’t listen
we thought maybe it was another bluff,
Now you’ve proved your pointdon’t you think you’ve punished us enough?
Please don’t think of us ungrateful
for the beautiful scenery we see,
But we just wanted to go visit
not learn how to ski.
We’ll make you a solemn promise
if and when we get back home,
We’ll watch your warnings more closely
before we start to roam.
